A weekly business report you don't have to write

A printed one-page summary on a shop counter beside a coffee cup

Most owners already know they should review the numbers weekly. The reason it doesn't happen is that assembling the review is work: open the bank app, open the spreadsheet, try to remember what got done. SMBDashboard flips that. Because you log money, tasks, and appointments as they happen, the weekly report writes itself. Open it Monday morning, read one page, print it if you want a paper trail.

The page is deliberately short: money in, money out, profit, how that compares with the week before, tasks completed and still open, appointments held, your top customer, and what is still unpaid. Nine lines is about the limit of what anyone actually reads on a Monday, and every one of them is a number you would otherwise have gone hunting for.

Nothing is estimated or rolled forward. Every figure is recomputed from the entries you logged in the Money module and the Customers list, so a blank week reads as a blank week rather than a flattering average. Print it to PDF and you have a dated record you can hand to a bookkeeper or file against the month.

Seven numbers, one page

The report covers the current Monday-to-Sunday week: revenue, expenses, and profit — each with an exact delta against the prior week — plus tasks completed, appointments held, your top customer by revenue, and the total sitting in open invoices. That last number is the one that keeps owners up at night, which is why it's on the page instead of buried in a ledger.

Every figure is computed from the entries you've already logged, in integer cents, so the deltas are exact rather than rounded-and-hopeful. There's nothing to configure and no template to fill in. If the week was quiet, the report is short and honest about it.

Built to be printed

Click Print and a dedicated print stylesheet takes over: the page contains only the report — black on white, tabular numerals, no app chrome, no navigation. Save it as a PDF and you have a weekly paper trail of the business; print it and pin it above the desk. With Pro, your business name and logo sit at the top, so the page you hand a partner, spouse, or banker looks like it came from your business — not from a website.

The habit is the product

A weekly review only works as a ritual: same day, same page, fifteen minutes. We wrote up the exact routine in a one-page weekly review for small business owners — what to look at, in what order, and what to ignore. The short version: read the report, pick the one number that moved the wrong way, and create a single task about it. The report feeds the task manager; the tasks feed next week's report.

FAQ

What's in the weekly report?
Revenue, expenses, and profit for the current week (Monday–Sunday), each with a delta against the prior week; tasks completed; appointments held; your top customer by revenue; and your open-invoices total. One page, no filler.
Do I have to build the report myself?
No. It's generated from the money entries, tasks, and appointments you've already logged in the dashboard. Open the Weekly Report module and it's there — click Print for a paper or PDF copy.
How does printing work?
The report has a dedicated print stylesheet: when you print, the page contains only the report — clean black-on-white, no app chrome. Use your browser's 'Save as PDF' to file a copy each week.
Can I put my business name and logo on it?
Yes, with the Pro license (from $8 a month, or $149 once for life). Set your business name and logo in Settings and both appear on the app header and on every printed report. The free report carries a small smbdashboard.com credit line instead.
Is the comparison to last week automatic?
Yes. Each money figure shows the change against the prior Monday–Sunday week, computed from your entries in exact cents. If revenue is down $250 from last week, the report says so plainly.
Is my data uploaded to generate the report?
No. The report is computed in your browser from your locally stored data, and nothing is transmitted to build it. The only time that data leaves your browser is if you're on Pro and switch on cross-device sync, which is off by default.

Monday morning, one page, done.
